USDA Funds Delcambre Seafood & Farmers Market

The Delcambre Seafood & Farmers Market held its inaugural market on Saturday, March 16, with a wide variety of vendors and plenty of customers. In a small community of 2,000 residents, over 1,000 customers from 33 cities and towns shopped among 25 vendors . The market was held on the Delcambre Shrimp Festival grounds under majestic oak trees with live Cajun music playing in the background. The startup of the market was made possible by a  $80,000 grant from the USDA's Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) in the 2011 grant year.  Read More
